Imagine what you could do with 83 hours…
Engaged Video was founded on the basic principle that digital engagement doesn’t end with posts on Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube. We believe that an organization’s relationship to technology defines how effectively a company can engage the community they serve. That’s why we don’t limit the services we provide to web development, video production, or social engagement strategy. We offer services that dive deeper into how an organization fundamentally uses technology everyday; we ask tough questions about staff adoption of technology and the role it plays in the daily function of their jobs. The value of this philosophy was recently made clear to our team through the work we just completed with a client.
Zac and Michael were recently deployed to a client site to do a major infrastructure upgrade and we had the opportunity to see first hand what happens when an organization has the right resources at their disposal.
We replaced a client’s entire network. No, seriously. THE. ENTIRE. NETWORK. We replaced everything: firewalls, routers, switches, WAPs, and servers. We rebuilt or replaced all the racks holding their network equipment, the battery backups, the KVM, the console units, the wiring into and out of the rack. We did this work in three buildings spread across an entire city. Once the physical work, configuration, deployment, and activation of all the new systems was completed we then compiled a cut-over report so that the client’s new IT support provider would have all the information they need to launch their services. This all sounds rather impressive, but the irony is that this paragraph only describes what we delivered–but not what we accomplished. What we accomplished falls directly in line with our mission. We redefined digital engagement.
To give you an idea of what this meant to the client just consider this: The first time we visited their offices it would sometimes take as long as five minutes for a single client file to open. Think about what that means to the people that they serve everyday. If one staff member serves one thousand people per year, then that one staff person kept their clients waiting nearly 83 HOURS over the course of a year. Imagine multiple staff members, serving multiple clients simultaneously…and that number grows exponentially.
Now consider this:
After completing the upgrade those same files loaded in less than a second.
The amount of time lost while waiting for a file to load can change the nature of your relationship with your clients. How would you rather be spending those 83 hours every year? Our client now has to answer that question…and what a wonderful opportunity it represents to their staff to provide more effective and engaged service to their community.
Engaged Video exists to help service organizations better serve their communities. In the case of our latest client I believe that this project can be designated a monumental success.
